| These rule books formed the heart of the Classic Traveller system that came out in
1977. They were the original little black books. There is a reason Classic Traveller survives today, decades after
first being published in 1977. Though multiple editions and varying versions of Traveller have come out since then, Classic Traveller's unique character creation process, its focus on trade, commerce, and intrigue, and its rules-light game system and simple dice dynamic make it special among Role-Playing Games. In a day and age where game companies release new editions of their games more and more often, generating fresh hype and fresh sales figures...its somehow refreshing to see the very first edition of a classic game still popular, and still being played. |

While these were the core of the Classic Traveller game, there were other books, including supplements, adventures, double-adventures, and alien guides. Used copies of most these Traveller rule books can be found on the internet, but you can also buy new copies of the books (both paper and digital) from Far Future Enterprises, the successor to Game Designers' Workshop. I'm also setting up a Private Library for players in my Campaign. |
